Marissa Nadler has just released ‘The Sister‘ on her own record label Box Of Cedar. The 8-song EP is an incredibly solid outing with each song capturing your undivided attention. The music wraps you in it’s warm embrace, holding you close, offering serenity and comfort. Her sultry, folksy voice leaves you wanting more. Come to think of it, the only thing I would change about the album is that I wanted even more tracks!
Marissa is a Boston based songwriter/ musician who has released 5 albums total and after hearing ‘The Sister‘, I am strongly inclined to go get them all. Her dreamy, atmospheric voice comes across with quiet intensity and offers the listener peace and tranquility. She conjures the past with Mazzy Star-like purity. The acoustic guitar and reverb-affected production suit her incredibly well and her vocal range lets her purr or soar. The overall affect is an intoxicating listening experience that is sure to become a staple amongst music lovers everywhere. Kudos to you Marissa. With ‘The Sister‘ you have crafted an album that is truly and completely addicting. I am now on a quest to see you live. PLEASE tell us you are coming to Southern California….please?
